Course Information

The Pre-Master’s program in Engineering & IT Management at SRH International College is designed for international students who are aiming to study for a master’s degree in the fields of engineering, information technology and engineering management in Germany, but do not currently meet the direct entry requirements (academics, research skills or academic English).

The program lasts 1 semester (~6 months) and focuses on equipping:
Basic knowledge of engineering - technology - management, to help students master the basic principles in the German academic environment,
Postgraduate research skills, critical thinking and academic presentation according to European standards,
Advanced academic English, and learning basic German to prepare for life in Germany.

1. Advanced English Language & Academic Skills
Practice academic English skills: essay writing, presentation, reading comprehension
Critical thinking skills, citing scientific documents and presenting according to European standards

2. Advanced Mathematics
Consolidate mathematical knowledge for engineering & management studies:
Linear Algebra
Probability - Statistics
Calculus - Integral Calculus
Differential Equations
Application of mathematics in engineering and IT fields

3. Principles of Business & Management
Provide basic management knowledge for engineering/engineering management:
Strategic Management
Corporate Finance
Basic Marketing
Human Resource Management
Organizational Culture

4. Postgraduate Research Methods & ICT
Introduce postgraduate research methods:
Research thinking, topic design, data analysis
Using ICT tools (Information & Communication Technology) in academia
Prepare for writing a master's thesis after this

5. German Language & Culture (can be split into 2 modules)
Get acquainted with German language and culture (basic communication, vocabulary of life, social customs)
Take an additional German Conversation class at a later stage to improve your ability to integrate into life and study in Germany
